Mr Auto Group (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use mr-autogroup.com, why we collect it, and what rights you have. We process personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

What we collect

• Order and account information: your name, email address, delivery and billing address, and contact number.
• Payment information: payments are processed by our payment provider. We do not receive or store your full card number.
• Communications: messages you send us by email, contact form or chat.
• Website usage: pages viewed, device and browser type, and similar technical information collected through cookies.

Why we process it

We use your personal information to accept and deliver your order, process payments and refunds, provide support, handle returns and warranty claims, meet our legal and tax obligations, prevent fraud, and improve the website. We rely on the performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests, your consent where required, and our legal obligations.

Direct marketing

We only send marketing email where you have asked us to, or where you are an existing customer and we are marketing similar goods. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by emailing us. We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only as far as it is needed with our delivery and freight partners, our payment provider, our website and email hosting providers, and our professional advisers. These parties act as operators on our behalf and are required to keep your information confidential and secure.

Transfers outside South Africa

Some of our service providers store data outside South Africa. Where that happens, we only use providers that are subject to laws or binding agreements offering protection substantially similar to POPIA, as required by section 72.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as required by South African tax and company law, and other information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected. After that it is deleted or de-identified.

Security

The website runs over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and we take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access and misuse. If a security compromise affects your personal information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep your cart and session working, to remember your preferences and to understand how the site is used. You can manage your cookie preferences through the banner on the site or in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect checkout.

Your rights

Under POPIA you have the right to ask us what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise any of these rights, email info@mr-autogroup.com. We may need to verify your identity before we act on the request.

Complaints

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so that we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at complaints.IR@justice.gov.za or via inforegulator.org.za.

Children

Our website and products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. The version published on this page is the one that applies.
