Return and Refund Policy

This policy applies to orders placed on mr-autogroup.com for delivery within South Africa. It is read together with your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA). Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under South African law.

Your 7-day cooling-off right

Because you are buying online, section 44 of ECTA gives you the right to cancel your order without reason and without penalty within 7 days of receiving the goods. To exercise this right, email us at info@mr-autogroup.com within that period. The goods must be returned to us unused and in their original condition and packaging. You are responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods. We will refund you within 30 days of the cancellation.

Order cancellations before dispatch

You may cancel your order at any time before it is dispatched, at no charge. Contact us as soon as possible so that we can stop the order.

Returns after the cooling-off period

We accept returns on most products within 30 days of delivery, subject to the following:

• Outboard motors and engines must be unused, uninstalled and returned in the original manufacturer’s packaging, with all components, manuals and accessories included.
• Parts and accessories must be new, unused, uninstalled and returned in the original packaging, with all manuals, tags and accessories included.
• Non-returnable: electrical components (for safety and testing reasons), and any item that has been used, installed or modified.

Return shipping and fees

Unless the item is defective, damaged or was sent in error, you are responsible for the cost of returning it to us. Returned goods are inspected on arrival. Where goods are returned in a condition that has reduced their value, we may charge a reasonable handling or restocking fee as permitted by section 20(6) of the CPA. We will always tell you the amount before processing the refund.

Faulty, damaged or incorrect items

If your order arrives damaged, defective or incorrect, keep all packaging and contact us within 48 hours of delivery at info@mr-autogroup.com. We will arrange a replacement or a refund and we cover the return shipping in these cases.

Separately, section 56 of the CPA gives you the right, for 6 months after delivery, to return goods that are not of good quality, are unsafe or are not fit for their intended purpose. In that case you may choose a repair, a replacement or a refund, at no cost to you.

Refunds

Refunds are made to the original payment method. Once we have received and inspected the return, please allow 7–10 business days for the refund to reflect. Your bank may take a further few days to show the credit.

Refused or undeliverable deliveries

If a delivery is refused or returned to us as undeliverable through no fault of ours, you are responsible for the original and return delivery costs.

Manufacturer warranties

Manufacturer warranties are honoured in accordance with the terms the manufacturer applies in South Africa, through its authorised South African service network. Warranty terms offered in other countries do not apply to goods sold and delivered here. See our Warranty page for details.

How to start a return

Email info@mr-autogroup.com with your order number, the item concerned and the reason for the return. We will confirm the return address and next steps before you send anything back.
