Out on the water, a hardware store is rarely within reach. The smartest boaters carry a compact kit of spare parts that covers the most common failures. Here is a checklist built around the items that most often save a day on the water.

Engine Essentials

Carry spare spark plugs, a fuel filter, a water pump impeller, and a spare set of belts where applicable. These are the parts most likely to wear or fail, and they are small enough to store easily.

Fluids and Seals

Keep a bottle of the correct engine oil, gear oil, and a basic seal or O ring assortment. A minor leak is far less stressful when you can top up and reseal on the spot.

Electrical and Safety

A selection of fuses, a spare battery terminal, and some marine grade wire and connectors can resolve many no start situations. Add a flashlight and corrosion spray to round out the kit.

Tools to Match

Spare parts are only useful with the tools to fit them. Pack the wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, and a multimeter that match your engine.

Build Your Kit With Quality Parts

Cheap, ill fitting parts can cause more harm than the problem they were meant to fix. We stock genuine and trusted aftermarket components for major outboard brands. Put your kit together from our marine spare parts range and keep it aboard year round.
